October, wait....no, November, wait....wait,no DECEMBER 31st!!!!
I've had so much fun with all our Christmas & Hannukah customers and SANTA visits this year that it's made the time fly by!
Another neat thing about this time of year is that TTS girls let me in on all the secrets & surprises 'cuz they know I won't tell!

In the picture with me is my kool n' krazy friend, Lily, who always tries to talk my mom into letting me go home with her. Today we may have struck a deal... Mom said Lily can come home with us instead!!  OH boy- oh girl- oh doggydogs!! We're gonna play with all my new toys and I'll share my treats with her and we'll snuggle by the fire and take naps....
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO MEEEEE ! ! ! !

Rain again
in my pen.
Can't stay out,
must stay in.
Rain makes mud,
mud makes mess.
Muddy paws
cause Mom distress.
Wanna play,
need to run;
must find a way
to have some fun!
Nowhere to play
'cept inside
Steal a shoe
Go and hide...
Boots are best-
like stinky feet.
Come see me, Kayla -
& bring a treat!

WELL, I had a Spa day yesterday! You know - nails, hair, anal glands - the works! It was the bomb. One little problem tho'...I'm so clean I smell like a human.Yuk! I'm gonna have to find something smelly to roll in pronto.

You're probably wondering about the handsome beagle in the picture with me. He's LuckyDog, my mentor. He brought me up and taught me how to be a good doggy. I used to think of him as my beau, but now he's more like my uncle. (Better than  the other way around, I guess)
He comes to work with me sometimes lately, and now I get to teach him a few things. Like how to be a Tack Shop Greeter. He's older and doesn't like it as much as I do, so I still get to be "the Greeter" and the girls are calling LuckyDog the "Greet Me" dog. So far it's working out pretty well!

Hey everyone - LOOK! I have a be-yoo-ti-full new collar! Anne from Paw Paws, that gorgeous girl in the photo with me, asked me to model it in the store (I just love my job!) It's from her new fall collection - the very latest in canine fashion! There are so many cool patterns... you must come in and see for yourselves. And be sure to bring your owners!

It's Saturday but no bath today, cuz it's raining fleas n'frogs...Hurray!!

Geeez did I get in big trouble. Yesterday, Irene Backer was in the shop asking my mom why I haven't been keeping up with my blog. I'm really sorry everyone. Mom says I have to write you all an explanation.

I've been pretty busy as TTS greeter - LOTS of new young riders and their little brothers and sisters have come to play with me - SO much fun, but my paws get too tired to type. (How's that??) I'll try to do better, Irene. Please don't give up on me!

It's Saturday and you know what that means . . . bath day. Every Saturday, whether I need it or not, Mom takes me out under the hose. Today I have my beagle uncle, Lucky Dog, here to help me greet everyone. He raised me and taught me everything I know about being a good doggy. He's getting a bath, too. So we're both very pettable today. Please come pet us!!
Tomorrow is our Tack Swap. That's always a good time. People are really happy 'cause they find good bargains -- and they pet me extra! Woohoo! Tack Swap!!

July 3, 2009

Well, I've been taking good care of my mom these past couple of months. I don't know if I mentioned this to you yet, but Ned - my big (human) brother - joined the U.S. Army last summer and on Mother's Day he turned 20 years old. She was pretty sad because she couldn't see him or talk with him that day. He's been in really intensive training to become a Ranger. (I'll show you a picture next time you come to the shop. I'm SO proud of him!!)
Anyway, Ranger Ned is about to deploy overseas. I thought it would be a good thing to ask all my friends. . . Please keep Ned, and all the good men and women serving our country and protecting our freedom, in your prayers as we celebrate our Independence.
Have a safe weekend, love the ones you're with, and don't swallow any chicken bones!

Mother's Day turned out okay after all.  I gave mom a big lick and a tail wag to let her know how much I appreciate her!  And we still got to eat breakfast in bed and watch Animal Planet!  But I've been working hard all day greeting people from the window and I'm tired now....Yawn..I love Sundays, sunny outside with a nice breeze... sleepy...zzzzz.

May 8, 2009

Omigosh! I just remembered Mother's Day is Sunday.
I don't have a card or anything planned... Maybe we'll just have breakfast in bed together and watch the Pet Channel. Yeah!

Saturdays at the shop are always fun. I usually have a canine friend or two come to visit and today it was "Charlie" Emory. He is SO CUTE: Part Mastiff - all GUY. At first I wasn't sure about him cause I'm always extra-cautious when someone new comes into my store (I have to lookout for my girls, y'know), but he was so laid-back and friendly. He seemed to like the stinky stuff I'd just found outside and rubbed all over my neck (TTS Girls were grossed out and made me have a bath right away). Maybe I'll ask my mom if we can have a playday together sometime. I bet he plays a great game of tug!
This afternoon we went to Riverbend to the POHA Show to do that Tee- Spotting thing where we give a gift certificate ON THE SPOT to anyone wearing one of our TTS T-shirts. That was so fun! We saw lots of our friends. Next weekend we get to go to two shows, the one at Harmon Field and the CHSA at Berry Woods Farm. WOOHOO. TTS Greeter goes on the road!!!

April 30, 2009

Ok, I'm back now. I was busy chasing my tail (everybody seems to be). But, I love my job. here I am a dog working at a tack shop where all kinds of girls (I like guys too) come in and love on me.  Gosh, I know that non-dogs (humans) are not as happy as they were last year. I hear that they are worried about the economy, So I asked my mom, Glyn, what that means. And she said that people just won't give you two bisquits if you can do with just one. Now I get it.

So, I'll just love my job even more. I'll lick everyone one more lick. I'll take less doggie naps, just so you're happy.  Please come by. The Tack Shop Girls won't pressure...I PROMISE ;).  And if you're happy, they're happy, and I get more love, more cookies, and...oh I have worked hard today, I'm so tired. I think I'll go to bed now and dream about Marley.

2:45 p.m.

The best thing just happened.
This really nice lady and her little girl come to
see us every month all the way from Tennessee.
WELL, today when they came in, I jumped up to welcome them. Of course they pet me and told me how sweet and clean I am (I take a bath every Saturday whether I need one or not!) As the mom walked away, I caught a whiff of something deliciously familiar. . . chocolate!
and then I saw it on the back of her pants - a big brown spot, just waiting to be licked. So I did! The funny thing is that she thanked me for letting her know it was there.     I just love our customers!

10:05 a.m.

Wow - is my tail sore! I finally got my spot back in the front window (the Art Contest was displayed there, you know) and I'm so happy! Now I can lie in the warm sun and see everyone as they pull in the parking lot. Part of my job as TTS Greeter is to let the girls know when a customer is coming - When they hear my tail whacking the wood, that's the signal - so they can quickly swallow and put the food away (these girls like to eat as much as I do).  OH BOY . . . here comes a family with little children. Gotta go to work!

April 15, 2009

So here I am, The Tack Shop Dog.
Every day I get up in the morning and I can't wait to get to my job as The Tack Shop greeter.
I lick the babies (especially on Fridays when they have our homemade cookie crumbs on their faces)
or I just greet everyone, then I wag my tail and make everyone feel welcome.

I won't get into my life just yet, 'cause I'm kinda new to this Internet chat thing. But I have so much to tell.
Iwas not always The Tack Shop dog. I was rescued by the love of my life,Glyn Sandzen, who saw me at 8 weeks old being just thrown away out of atruck on the side of the road by bad people. She scooped me up, gave mefood and water and a nice warm bed, and I became a real loved dog. Yes,A REAL LOVED DOG.  So, I am grateful and I want to tell you more. Staytuned. I have so much to share soon.

Oh - btw - we're having a really fun Tack Swap and Art Contest on Sunday the 19th. Come see me!
